五百年前，紫霞（赵艺饰）下凡去寻找拔出紫青宝剑的意中人至尊宝（黄子韬饰），却撞坏了紫青宝剑。紫霞为了修复宝剑，使用月光宝盒穿越。五百年后，至尊宝遗失前世记忆，转世成为斧头帮帮主，与善良的白晶晶朝夕相处中互生好感。但白晶晶被春三十娘所骗拔剑自刎，为了救回白晶晶，至尊宝使用月光宝盒，竟穿越回五百年前。盘丝洞口二人相遇，紫霞惊觉她面前的就是五百年前的至尊宝，但却发现他已经爱上别人。牛魔王贪图美色以至尊宝的性命相要挟，要迎娶紫霞。混乱中，至尊宝被月光宝盒传送到现代与未来，穿越之旅至尊宝看清了自己的内心。至尊宝为救紫霞与牛魔王大战。紧要关头，紫霞为至尊宝挡下了牛魔王的致命一击。此时救妹心切的青霞与六耳猕猴达成一致，按照天数安排演了一出戏，从而改变紫霞、至尊宝的命运。世间混沌终各归各位，紫霞和至尊宝也终于拥有了幸福的结局。
